LORA Presents

"Escape to the Islands"

a TASTES FOR TOMORROW
SCHOLARSHIP GALA

A Scholarship Fundraiser for the Chefs of Tomorrow

The Fountains Wedding and Conference Center
Saturday, March 10, 2012
beginning at 6pm

The Local Owner Restaurant Association (LORA) brings island life to Salisbury on March 10 with a night of fantastic food and Caribbean music. The third annual “Tastes for Tomorrow” Scholarship Gala will feature a spread from 18 area restaurants and music by PICNIC and MP Steel.

PICNIC, regular performers at area hot spots including the Fountains and Seacrets, will put a tropical spin on the night with music from Jimmy Buffet, the Beach Boys and other margarita-inspired bands. PICNIC takes the stage at the Fountains Wedding and Conference Center at 7:30 p.m.

The MP Steel Duo will kick off the evening with the distinctive sound of steel drums reminiscent of Jamaica.   The Duo is well-known for appearances at area restaurants and island-themed parties.  Flip flops are welcome!

Tickets for the event are $50 per person/$95 per couple. This year’s gala invites you to “Escape to the Islands” and raises funds for scholarships awarded to local students attending culinary school. The gala begins at 6 p.m. and runs through midnight. Special thanks to Executive Sponsors: Sysco, Sharp Water, U.S. Food Service, WMDT Channel 47, and Comcast Spotlight.
